Free Pinball Star1/31/2024 ![]() ![]() So far I’ve found the table to be imminently playable, with a clean, uncluttered, if somewhat simple layout that makes discerning targets easy. Balls glow a searing lightsaber red during certain multi-ball events, and the borders of the table invoke the interior of the Death Star, rounding out the appropriately themed aesthetic. Sound is a deft mix of authentic clips and Lucas-approved sound-alikes backed by John Williams’ unforgettable score. The main attraction is the giant Vader helmet that surveys the table until a mission is activated, at which point the faceplate slides down to reveal something of a 3D diorama of the relevant movie scene. As it has in the past, Zen Studios takes full advantage of the freedom afforded by video pinball, playing out many iconic moments with 3D character models that would obviously be impossible on a real-life table. ![]() “Much like the already revealed Return of the Jedi table, this one is centered on a mission mode that has you playing out key events from Vader’s life, including the comically infamous “NOOOOOO!” heard ‘round the galaxy.
